Placing any glass film with a tint on to any double glazed unit will cause a thermal heat build up on the glazing and could cause a thermal heat crack.
However, for in excess of twenty six years we have been fitting Glass Film onto standard double glazing with very few occurrences of a thermal heat crack.
In these few occasions, on investigation it has been discovered, that the glass had been tightly fitted into the frame, and in a few cases, a screw had been sticking through the frame touching the glass panel causing the glass to break.

The glass manufacturers say that should the glass be of toughened standard, the glass will not crack due to thermal heat gain.
We will not accept any responsibility in either case.
It is in your best interest to check with your glass suppliers if the glass is of toughened standard.
